Citizen of the Year

This fall, the Town of Fort Frances will present the 30th 'Citizen of the Year' award.  The award will be presented to a resident of the Town of Fort Frances who has made a positive contribution toward the well being of our community and its citizens.  

If you would like to nominate an individual for this award, please pick up a nomination form from the Reception Desk at the Civic Centre or click here to download and print a copy.

Notice - Public Meeting 2018 Budget

Fort Frances citizens are invited to present their suggestions and comments to Council on what they believe are municipal services / projects to be included in the 2018 Budget.  Public meeting is scheduled for Monday September 25, 2017.  Please contact the Clerk's office to make a presentation (either in person or written) by 12noon on Thursday September 21.

Notice is hereby given that Council proposes to stop up, close, declare surplus and sell a portion of Flinders Avenue.

Council will hear from any support/opposition from residents at the September 25th Council meeting.

Please clean out your garages, basements and storage sheds and dispose properly of your Hazardous & Special Waste.

Where:  Public Works Yard at 300 Wright Avenue, Fort Frances from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Notice of Road Closure

Please be advised that Front Street (between Minnie Avenue and Butler Avenue) will be closed from 8:00 am on July 14, 2017 to 4:00pm on July 24, 2017 in order to accommodate the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship. 

Large trucks are to utilize Scott Street as the alternate truck route.  Signs will be posted at each end of Scott Street.

Please be advised that Front Street (between Minnie Avenue and Scott Street) will be closed on Thursday July 20th, 2017 from 8:00am to 5:00pm in order to accommodate the 'Sorting Gap Marina Show and Shine' being organized by the International Early Iron Car Club with special guests travelling as part of the Canadian Coasters 50th Anniversary Tour.  For more information about the tour, please click here.

Please be advised that the 100, 200 and 300 (plus 400 if necessary) blocks of Scott Street will be closed on Wednesday July 19th, 2017 to accommodate the 'Scott Street BIA Car Show' between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm.

Large trucks are to utilize Second Street (due to Front Street being closed at the same time).  Signs will be posted accordingly.
