Disability Employment Awareness Month October 2026

WHEREAS, persons with disabilities contribute valuable skills, talents, and perspectives to workplaces and communities across Canada; and

WHEREAS, accessible and inclusive employment practices help remove barriers and create equitable opportunities for everyone; and

WHEREAS, employers, community organizations, and governments share a responsibility to advance disability inclusion and meaningful participation in the workforce; and

WHEREAS, Disability Employment Awareness Month provides an opportunity to recognize these contributions and promote more accessible and inclusive workplaces; and

WHEREAS, enable Canada, an initiative of Enabled Talent, works to promote disability inclusion, accessible employment pathways, and meaningful participation across communities.

NOW THEREFORE, I, Mayor Andrew Hallikas of the Town of Fort Frances, do hereby proclaim October 2026 as “DISABILITY EMPLOYMENT AWARENESS MONTH” in the Town of Fort Frances and encourage residents, employers, and community organizations to support accessibility and disability-inclusive employment.
