Friends of the Museum

Noon to 2 p.m. at the Lions Park - Winter games and activities including a snow obstacle course, a scavenger hunt, mini golf and much more! The Rainy Lake Nordic Ski Club will be on hand, providing an opportunity to try out their snowshoes and cross-country skis. There will also be free hot dogs available at the library parking lot.

Friend of the Library will have hot chocolate and cookies at the library. Also available: a story time and facepainting - noon until 2 p.m.

From 1:15-3:15 there will be a toonie swim at the pool complex.

Friends of the Museum would like to thank their partners, the Nordic Ski Club, the Sportsplex and the Friends of the Library for helping to make this a great day for community families!

The Friends of the Museum group is a fundraising body to assist the Museum with those costs that generally would not be covered under its normal operating budget. These might include a speaker, a workshop, or children's programming.

Friends are volunteers from the community who are interested in our area's rich culture and heritage, and want to preserve both for future generations. We meet monthly, generally the first Wednesday of each month at 4:30 p.m. at the Museum. New members are always welcome.

Annually on the first Thursday of November, the Friends of the Museum host a Wine & Cheese Fundrasing Gala. Art, crafts and other goodies are donated for the silent auction by our very generous community and contribute to the success of this event.

During the hours leading up to the Christmas parade, Friends serve hot chocolate and cookies in the courtyard. The Hamiltons loan us their old-time sleigh and Judy decorates! The Choraliers sing Christmas carols for the enjoyment of all. A beautiful beginning to the Christmas season!
