Royal Canadian Legion Annual Poppy Campaign

WHEREAS, the poppy has stood as a symbol of Remembrance since 1921, our visual pledge to never forget those Canadians who have fallen in war and military operations; and
WHEREAS, from the last Saturday of October to Remembrance Day, poppies blossom on lapels and collars to inspire Canadians to remember the many blessings and freedoms Canadians enjoy today as a result of the sacrifices of those who serve their country; and

Whereas, the lands governed by Grand Council Treaty Three include 55,000 square miles, extending from West of Thunder Bay and into Manitoba and from North of Sioux Lookout to the Minnesota Border; and
Whereas, the Anishinaabe Nation have lived on these lands since time immemorial and have maintained a spiritual connection to Mother Earth and a custodial responsibility for the lands gifted to them by the creator; and

NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of Council has been called in accordance with the Procedural By-Law and the Municipal Act.
The Special Meeting of Council will take place as follows:
Location: Civic Centre, 320 Portage Avenue, Fort Frances (and virtual).
Date: Friday, October 16, 2026
Time: Approximately 1:00pm Central
Purpose:
The purpose of the meeting is for Council to repeal By-Law 1926 and its amendments respecting Daylight Savings Time.

WHEREAS, oral health is an essential component of overall health and well-being, and access to preventative dental care and oral health education contributes to healthier individuals, families, and communities; and
WHEREAS, National Dental Care Day is a Canadian public awareness initiative dedicated to promoting oral health education, preventative care, and equitable access to oral healthcare services, particularly for undeserved and vulnerable populations; and

WHEREAS, employers, community organizations, and governments share a responsibility to advance disability inclusion and meaningful participation in the workforce; and
