WHEREAS, during this 50th anniversary year, more than ever, the Franco-Ontarian flag remains a symbol of pride, resistance and hope for all francophones across Ontario; and
WHEREAS, by the virtue of the Franco-Ontarian Day Act, which was legislated on April 26th, 2010, it is declared that September 25th of each year be recognized as Franco-Ontarian Day throughout the province of Ontario; and

WHEREAS, Terry’s determination and unwavering spirit have left an enduring legacy of hope, resilience, and unity that continues to inspire individuals and communities across our nation; and
World Day Against Trafficking Persons

WHEREAS, the July 30th World Day Against Trafficking in Persons was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly on December 18, 2013; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Fort Frances would like to raise awareness and educate its citizens about this harmful modern-day slavery which is taking place in every part of the world, and even in our town and communities; and
Proclamation on the 100th Birthday of Clora J. McEvoy

WHEREAS, Clora J. McEvoy (nee Dumeney) was born in Mine Centre on July 5th, 1925, in Thunder Bay; and
WHEREAS, Clora did her patriotic duty working at CanPar during Word War II, assisting in the war effort and after the war moved to Fort Frances; and
WHEREAS, Clora raised a family of seven after her husband was killed in a car accident, attending night school while working during the day in order to complete her secondary education; and

WHEREAS, generations of Indigenous people have celebrated on June 21st due to the significance of the summer solstice as the longest day of the year; and

WHEREAS, Hope Air, a charitable organization, has been tirelessly dedicated to providing access to healthcare by facilitating free flights and other services for patients living in rural and under-served communities in Ontario, ensuring they can receive vital medical treatment regardless of distance or financial means;
