WHEREAS, June is National Indigenous History Month, and June 21st is National Peoples Day - a day for all Canadians to learn about and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures, and significant contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Metis peoples; and
WHEREAS, generations of Indigenous people have celebrated on June 21st due to the significance of the summer solstice as the longest day of the year; and
It is resolved that I, Mayor Andrew Hallikas, on behalf of Council, do hereby declare that June 2025 shall be known as "Pride Month" in the Town of Fort Frances.

We’re reaching out to invite you to complete a quick survey about business licensing and how food trucks are managed in Fort Frances. This builds on the strong public response we received through our recent community survey—but now, we want to hear directly from you, the people who make it all happen.
The goal? To make things easier for food trucks, not harder.
The Town of Fort Frances has begun to review the Business Licencing By-Law and is considering a pilot project that would make it easier for food trucks to come to town.
WHEREAS, access to healthcare is a fundamental right for all citizens, regardless of their geographic location;
WHEREAS, Hope Air, a charitable organization, has been tirelessly dedicated to providing access to healthcare by facilitating free flights and other services for patients living in rural and under-served communities in Ontario, ensuring they can receive vital medical treatment regardless of distance or financial means;
TAKE NOTICE that a meeting of the Committee of Adjustment for the Corporation of the Town of Fort Frances will be held on Wednesday June 18th, 2025 at 5:30 p.m., in the Committee Room of the Fort Frances Civic Centre to consider the following application submitted under Section 45 of the Planning Act, R.S.O.1990, c. P.13, as amended:
Mayor Andrew Hallikas, on behalf of council, has declared June 2025 to be known as "Seniors' Month" in the Town of Fort Frances and encourages all citizens to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of our seniors.
