The Fort Frances Power Corporation has received notice that Hydro One will be taking a power outage to perform planned transmission system maintenance resulting in all electrical users in the Town of Fort Frances to be without power on:

ELECTRONIC BID SUBMISSIONS ONLY, shall be received by the Tendering System. Hardcopy submissions not permitted.
The Town of Fort Frances has retained KPMG to assist in the development of a corporate strategic plan for the next four years. The Strategic Plan will guide the decision making of Council and provide concrete goals for development into the future.

The Town of Fort Frances Mayor, Council and Staff would like to thank everyone that came to our first annual Volunteer Appreciation event!
Mayor Hallikas gave a wonderful speech and thanked all volunteers in the municipality for their hard work.
A special thank you goes out to Dr. Bob Lidkea for the use of the Kiwanis Club grill and to Patrick Briere and the guys from Public Works who helped set up, cook, serve and pack up.
Note: This is a bit of a long update as it includes an explanation of how the Town’s recycling program operates.
Use of the public and commercial compactors continue to operate on a 24/7 basis.
A Request for Tender is planned to be issued the first week of July for the construction of a new recycle depot.
Once a new recycle depot is built, curbside collection of recyclables will resume.
