Proposed Town of Fort Frances Community Improvement Plan
TAKE NOTICE that, in accordance with Section 28 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended, the Town of Fort Frances will hold a Public Open House and a Statutory Public Meeting to consider a proposed new Community Improvement Project Area and Community Improvement Plan (CIP).
THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of the proposed CIP is to replace the Town’s existing CIP, which was last updated on December 22, 2008. The proposed CIP will encourage and promote continued revitalization and private investment in the Town of Fort Frances. The proposed Community Improvement Project Area and CIP will provide a set of expanded Financial Incentive Programs to support development, redevelopment, and enhancement in the Town.
THE SUBJECT LANDS included as part of the proposed Community Improvement Project Area and CIP include all lands within the municipal boundary of the Town of Fort Frances. Accordingly, no key map is provided.
PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE
Date: Wednesday, August 12, 2026
Time: 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm; Virtual Presentation at 12:00 pm
Location: Council Chambers, Fort Frances Civic Centre, 320 Portage Avenue, Fort Frances, ON
Format: A virtual presentation will be provided by the Town’s consultants, WSP, followed by a drop-in style open house, including presentation boards, which will provide an overview of the proposed Draft CIP (July 2026), including the proposed Community Improvement Project Area, Program Areas, and Financial Incentive Programs. All are welcome to attend, no registration is required.
