Public Notice 2024 Municipal Budget Deliberations - Special Meetings

Notice is hereby given that the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Fort Frances will be commencing its 2024 Municipal budget deliberations as follows:​

  • Tuesday, February 20, 2024  Special Meeting
  • Monday March 4, 2024 Special Meeting

The meetings will begin at 5:30 pm in the Council Chambers at the Civic Centre and will be held virtually.  The virtual meeting link may be accessed via the Council agenda as indicated below.

Scheduled Air Service - Fort Frances to Thunder Bay

Thank you to our community for your support in helping Fort Frances bring regular scheduled air service back to the area! We are proud to be partnering with North Star Air to offer 3 flights per week beginning this July.

Background Report

As part of the Town of Fort Frances updating its Community Improvement Plan (CIP), the Town has retained WSP, a consulting form, to assist with this project. A Draft Community Improvement Plan Background and Recommendations Report (June 2026) has been developed by WSP to assist with consultation and development of this project, and is available for review here.

Surveys

The Town of Fort Frances is updating its existing Community Improvement Plan (CIP), which was adopted by Council on February 10, 2003, and most recently modified December 22, 2008. The Town’s existing CIP promotes economic development and revitalization through a series of Financial Incentive Programs available for private property owners throughout the Community Improvement Project Area, which is comprised of three (3) distinct Project Areas that collectively encompass the entire municipality.

Certain events require approval, permits, insurance, or coordination with Town departments and external agencies to ensure public safety and minimize impacts on residents, traffic, parks, and municipal infrastructure.
