A special meeting of Committee of the Whole of Council is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday November 13, 2018 in the Committee Room at the Civic Centre.
At this meeting Council will further discuss potential litigation matters with the Town Solicitor, therefore the majority of the meeting will be held in camera.
The Voter Help Centre at 320 Portage Avenue will be open during normal business hours beginning Monday October 15, 2018 to Friday October 19, 2018 and again on Voting Day, Monday October 22, 2018 from 10am to 8pm.
Additionally, a travelling Voter Help Centre will be established as follows:
Thursday October 18, 2018 between 1 - 3pm at Columbus Place
Voter Information Letters have been mailed and should arrive at your house by October 15, 2018. If you do not receive a voter information letter by that day, and you are eligible to vote, please stop by the Voter Help Centre located in Council Chambers at the Civic Centre, 320 Portage Avenue, Fort Frances and please bring appropriate identification with you.
The Voter Help Centre at 320 Portage Avenue will be open during normal business hours beginning Monday October 15, 2018 to Friday October 19, 2018 and again on Voting Day, Monday October 22, 2018 from 10am to 8pm.
Electors of the Town of Fort Frances and those who own property in Fort Frances should receive their Voter Information Letters by the end of September.
The Voter Information Letter mailed contains your Personal Information Number (PIN), the telephone number to call to cast your vote and the designated internet addresss to access in order to cast a vote.
Eligible electors will be able to select up to 1 candidate for Mayor, up to 6 candidates for Councillor and up to 2 candidates for School Board Trustee (RRDSB). All other School Board races have been acclaimed.
The Collections policy states that the Town of Fort Frances credits a payment to your account on the day it is received by our office (over-the-counter, drop box, mail or deposited into our bank account) by the end of the business day being 4:30 p.m. during the months of January to June and September to December and 4:00 p.m. during the summer months of July and August. It is important for those paying online or at the bank to allow time for the bank to process their payment and for the money to be received in the Town’s bank account.
