2025 Citizen of the Year Award
About Citizen of the Year and Junior Citizen of the Year
One of the ways the Town of Fort Frances recognizes outstanding service to the community is through the annual Citizen of the Year and Junior Citizen of the Year awards.
The Citizen of the Year candidate must be 19 or older as of the closing date of nominations, and:
- continually work towards the betterment of the community; and/or
- have made a positive difference to the lives of fellow citizens.
The Junior Citizen of the Year candidate must be 18 years or younger as of the closing date of nominations, and:
- have volunteered their time to community groups; and/or
- have participated and contributed in sporting/theatrical/organizational events.
Accepting Nominations
If you have a family member, friend, neighbour, coworker who resides in Fort Frances and the surrounding area, who you believe is worthy of a nomination, please Complete a Nomination!
Nominations are currently being accepted, closing April 4, 2025 at 4:00pm Central.
The candidate(s) recommended by the Citizen of the Year Committee and approved by Council will be identified and presented with a plaque at the Annual Volunteer Appreciation Event, typically held during National Volunteer Week.
Nominations forms are also available at the front desk at the Civic Centre, 320 Portage Avenue, Fort Frances.
