TAKE NOTICE that pursuant to the requirements of By-law No. 64/02, Council of the Corporation of the Town of Fort Frances at its meeting to be held on Monday March 22, 2021 following the Committee of the Whole meeting held virtually, proposes to consider a by-law to adopt the Town’s 2021 Budget.  The Committee of the Whole meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.

Community Safety and Well-Being Plan in Development for the Rainy River District

The Rainy River District Social Services Administration Board (RRDSSAB) is partnering with eighteen regional services to develop a Community Safety and Well-Being plan that will target all municipalities within the Rainy River District. The plan will involve identifying key local priority risk areas to focus on with the goal of safer communities with less crime and social disorder.

Public Notice: Notice - Special Budget Meeting - February 1, 2021

A special meeting of Committee of the Whole of Council is scheduled for 2:00 pm on Monday February 1, 2021 to be held virtually with a Special Council meeting to immediately follow.

At this meeting Council will further review and discuss the 2021 Capital and Operating Budgets and will include one in-camera item respecting identifiable individuals.

Public Notice: Colonization Road Renaming Process

The Town of Fort Frances is actively investigating a meaningful approach to the potential renaming of Colonization Road East and West within the community as a small step forward in our path to reconciliating past, present and future relationships with our neighboring Indigenous communities. The Town understands that entertaining such a change may generate a variety of impacts on all associated parties and is researching these potential impacts.

Public Notice: Single-Use Plastics By-Law Takes Effect Jan. 1, 2021

On January 27th, 2020, Mayor and Council of the Town of Fort Frances passed By-Law No. 11/20 (PDF), a ban on plastic bags, and single use food packaging. This by-law comes into effect on Friday January 1st, 2021.

Public Notice: Notice of Public Meeting

TAKE NOTICE that Council will hold a Public Meeting on Monday January 25, 2021 for the purposes of providing information to the public on proposed amendments to the Zoning By-Law relative to an application initiated by the Town of Fort Frances.

An application to amend the Zoning By-law (File B6-2020) initiated by the Town of Fort Frances proposes to amend the Zoning By-Law to define a tent and to amend Section 3.36 of the zoning by-law to further set out provisions for trailers, tents, mobile homes and campers within the Town.
