Local Officiants List: Wanting to encourage supporting local first, the Clerk's Department recommends first checking the availability of other local officiants. A list of names is available upon request from the Clerks Department.

The Town of Fort Frances offers welcoming, inclusive, and personalized wedding ceremonies for couples looking to make it official. We’re proud to support all couples legally able to marry in Ontario.

Marriage Licence
Before you say “I do,” you’ll need a valid Ontario Marriage Licence.
Cost: $153.00
No tax is applied.
Ceremony Options
All ceremonies include a required $113 administrative fee, applied once per booking.
Choose from a variety of ceremony styles and locations:
Civic Centre Ceremony (During Office Hours): $282.50
A simple and quick ceremony held at the Civic Centre.
With Marriage Licence, Admin Fee, HST applied: $548.50
After Hours/Outside Fort Frances Limits Ceremony: $395.50
For couples wanting a unique ceremony beyond our regular hours or outside town limits.
With Marriage Licence, Admin Fee, HST applied: $661.50
Pop-Up Elopement Day (or Vow Renewal): $234.00
A fun, budget-friendly ceremony at a pop-up location hosted by the Town.
With Marriage Licence, Admin Fee, HST applied: $500.00
If Vow Renewal, price reduced : $347.00
Office Marriage: $84.00
A quick, no-frills legal ceremony, no exchanging of rings, legal wording only, during office hours - you bring the witnesses.
With Marriage Licence, Admin Fee, HST applied: $350.00

A locally curated basket to celebrate your big day.
Ceremony Location Add-ons:
Town Facility, Partnering Business, La Verendrye Parkway, etc.: $25.00
Eighth Street Trails (Fall/Winter) or other pre-approved locations: $50.00
Rehearsal: $84.75
Plan ahead and practice your big moment with your officiant.
Witnesses (if required):
1 Witness: $28.25
2 Witnesses: $56.50
Mileage:
If your ceremony is outside Fort Frances, mileage fees apply based on CRA rates.
Council Chambers Rental (Optional)
For outside officiants only, our Council Chambers are available to rent:
1 Hour: $56.50
4 Hours: $141.25
Full Day: $282.50
